Macau and Hong Kong Itinerary – Part 1

Galaxy Macau
Galaxy Macau

In my first time visiting Macau, I am amazed by all the big casinos standing all over Macau. The ambience of the city was very beautiful and I cannot wait to explore the Macau and Taipa island.

I arrived at Hong Kong International Airport in the morning before taking the jet ferry to Macau. If you intend to take the same way as I did, please remember not to go to the Hong Kong immigration and find the ferry ticket counter to buy your ticket and also inform your baggage so the staff from the ferry company will pick your baggage from baggage belt and bring your baggage to the ferry.

The immigration at the Macau Outer Harbour is quite conventional compare to Hong Kong. It was more traditional and manual one. Upon the immigration, I was waiting for my baggage. The baggage belt only one so it was quite sometimes to wait my baggage since there were 2 arrival of ferries at the same time.

After picked my baggage, I try to find nearest free hotel bus that can take me to my hotel, Broadway Hotel Macau (please see the review here).

By using the free shuttle bus, I can enjoy the city view in the morning. My way to the hotel was crossing the connecting bridge between Macau island and Taipa island. I can see the magnificent Macau Tower from the window.

My hotel was in Taipa island with strategic location. I was easy to find foods an During my visit on March 2018, the weather was nice and cool enough. Upon checked in to the hotel, I was ready to explore Macau.

Day 1 – Exploring Taipa Casino Area

Taipa Village

The Taipa Village is an old area located at center of the Taipa island. It is just across the Galaxy Casino so we can easily reach the place by public transport.

The Venetian is combine of hotel, mall and casino itself. I think we will need half day to explore the entire of Venetian building. It has beautiful architecture and ornament inside the buildin. Outside of the casino, we will find the bus terminal used by locals to take them to the ferry terminal or Macau International Airport.

After exploring Venetian, my next destination was the Parisian Macau Casino. The main attraction of Parisian Macau is the mini Eiffel Tower in front of the Casino building. You can take beautiful photo at the place and do not forget to bring a long your tripod so you can easily take a photo. At night, the street in front of the casino will become a vast red district area. There will be escort ladies looking for their customer at the front of the casino.
